I took the battery off from mine Dv7. It is beyond salvation.
I already got another but since i am not moving now i was getting the energy directly from outlet. So no battery
The problem is that the Bios started to say cheksum error and resets date to 2009 everytime i reboot or hybernate.
    Any idea?

The date resetting is usually a sign of a dead or not secure CMOS battery.

Take out your hard drive. At least one of the issues appears to be a bad drive.
