In mine DV7 speakers+subwoofer i can't hear anything relevant from subwoofer even if i push the low frequencies of equalizator up.

Only when i connect to an hi-fi i can hear difference, of course the DV7 subwoofer doesn't matter then, it is only the IDT system working.

    Any idea?

Try looking for one of those bass testers on youtube and go on max volume, see if you can feel anything from it. (Edit: here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4G60hM1W_mk )

I don't even think they work until 90-100Hz anyway though, mine doesn't.

Well that's not really a subwoofer then, but 90Hz capability sure beats the 200Hz that the regular Altec Lansing speakers cut off.

AT least it isn't those tiny little things trying to play anything below that; they'd probably rip to shreds :D

I noticed when in music or in a movie a blatantly bass overload part comes up, I do notice the difference, but its not a huge difference. Can never come close to having headphones on....it will be awhile I think before laptops will come with speakers that perform on par with kick desktop ones because of size.

I gotta say tho the headphone quality is incredible. I like to mix the music in WMP so the bass is more out front and it is definately bassy with headphones, even with normal, plain jane headphones (mine are old fashioned sony's that clip around the ears rather than have the band that goes around or over your head).

I'm glad your laptop is good for headphones. Mine totally suck without an amplifier, way too much treble.

yeah it makes me wonder how a really good quality headphone would do with this laptop if plain headphones are this decent.... the sound quality would probably be well worth a higher price with better quality
