    DV7-2180US the same as DV7-2185DX?

    Does anyone know if there is a difference between the DV7-2180US and the DV7-2185DX? Their specs seem to be exactly the same, but they have different product numbers. The DV7-2180US is NV022UA#ABA and the DV7-2185DX is NV023UA#ABA.

    Doing a search of the model numbers on the HP site, the DV7-2180US seems to be the one you can buy directly from HP. Searching for DV7-2185DX on the HP site only brings up a spec sheet, a drivers/download page and a business support link. The DV7-2185DX is the model number for the one sold at Best Buy and other retail outlets. I'm guessing there are different model numbers because they are sold through different avenues (one directly from HP and the other through retail), but I was wondering if anyone knew if there are any hardware differences between the two?

    I have been wondering the same thing. Doing a comparison of the specs, I can't find any differences and I can only locate the 2185DX at best buy, I haven't seen it at any other retailers.

    I'm probably going to get the 2180US from Amazon, but would also love someone to verify that there are no differences in the hardware.

    There are no differences whatsoever between the dv7-2180us and dv7-2185dx. I was trying to help my sister buy a laptop and we specifically compared these two models. The dv7-2185dx is an exclusive Best Buy model with the same specifications as the dv7-2180us -- nothing more, nothing less (except maybe pricing, but not by much).

    I suggest getting the dv7-2180us right now due to price -- the HP website has this model with 25% Bing cashback at the moment (do not use coupons -- they will invalidate cashback).
