DV7-2550em , ATI R-m HD 4650 graphics driver blues

I hope this question was not already chewed up to unrecognizability, since I was unable to find a suitable topic.

My laptop is as stated the DV7-2550em with the ATI Radeon mobility 4650 HD graphics card.

The drivers which HP posted as official are from 2009., and I'm starting to have some graphics issues due to obsolete drivers.

My question(s):
Is there a newer driver available?

Is there any way to install a HD4650 driver from ATI/AMDs support site on my laptop? I've tried just about everything

It's frustrating to have bought a desktop replacement laptop only to have found out that I can't update video card drivers on a regular basis. This is just horrendous. The two hard disks that don't support RAID is in the same category of horror but off topic, as long as the video driver question is concerned.

Here are direct and official download links to the Catalyst 11.6 Mobility drivers. This is the newest version currently released (8.861 released June 2011). Give these a try and see what happens.

These links are not actually posted on the AMD support site, but are the complete packages that include both the driver and Catalyst Control Center suite.
