    DV7000 - Swapping Vid Card - 8400 to 8600 ?

    Do you guys think it's possible to swap the vid card from the starter (8400M GS) to the better (8600M GS) , since it's the same exact laptop except some has the 8600 and some has the 8400 , Why would it be possible to swap Vid Card ??

    No its not possible...read the gaming stickies, (well you could technically but it will be hard to get hold of a card, and will probably void your warranty, therefore no is the standard answer. :))

    I have a cards already , that's why im asking .. :p

    And i know it will void the warranty :p

    But thanks for the reply , and you made me think , since i don't have a problem playing the game i want so far , why would i bother changing something that work lo0l :p

    NO. HPs do NOT have upgradeable GPUs. Not to mention you have a dv9000.

    my warranty -> 1 Year , but i can buy the 3 year extended , wich im not sure if i should or not !

    just think it this way: the gpu is glue to the motherboard and it is going to stay there.
