    DV7T - How do I store the remote in the notebook?

    There appears to be a slot it would fit into above the card reader on the left side. I haven't figured out how to take the metallic plastic piece out of it though.

    the fake insert should just pull out. the real remote comes out with a spring. when its inside, you push it in further and it pops out

    You take out the dummy one the same way, by pushing it in to pop it out.

    I will also add that if your left palm rest gets too warm, you can leave the remote out of its slot to help keep it cool.

    Holy crap was that piece of plastic in there tight! I ended up using the end of a knife to move it out a little at a time on both sides. The remote fits and works perfectly.

    ...the ExpressCard slot is spring-loaded... you press into the card and it will pop out... I'm surprised you had to pry the plastic cover out of the slot...
