the dv7t is such a slick lookin' machine- ever since i got it i thought the emblems / badges on it were hideous. so i removed them today.
just note though - that all of the stickers came off easily with the exception of the intel centrino 2 inside sticker and the graphics by invidia sticker.... those stickers came off but like 90% of the adhesive stayed on the machine.
it took nearly a half an hour to remove the adhesive!??#@??$#@%#$#@ it was such a pain but now that it's gone, the machine looks elite.
take a look. all i used on the adhesive was water + windex maybe 5 or 6 times. little by little i got the adhesive off.

I personally like badges, just not where they come by default... I think they look much nicer above the keyboard
Thanks for sharing. -
yeah,i like badges too...but this one looks very cool w/o them

above the keyboard actually would look pretty good. too bad my stickers are all battered now from removing them in a rush. LOL.
-
IMO it looked better with the badges. But nice job on the removal.

Looks really clean and nice without all those stickers. I think the main reason it looks plain is because you have all that palm-rest space on the 17 inch.
I'm getting a dv5t soon and I definately plan on getting rid of all those stickers...they start to bug when you type anyway...especially when resting your palms on the palm rest area.
Question...the fingerprint reader is on the lower right corner...isn't that inconveniant? My current dv6700t has it on the upper right corner of the palm rest...where it doesn't get in the way...does it bother you while you type? -
Wow, looking good without the badges!
I agree with sendmarksmail, the fingerprint reader looks like it could get in the way at the lower bottom corner.
I also just realized the arrow keys are super tiny compared to the dv5t.
All in all, good job on getting rid of those things! -
I removed the stickers on my dv6700 too (back when I first purchased it). Same with all the other laptops I've had
-
i think all the "LOL" is unnecessary
-
I like the stickers since I think it give more identity to the computer, but the look nice with out them too.. the only thing I don't like about the stickers is the fact that they start to wear out and pill off through out time. And when you try removing them they it is hard to remove and clean the adhesive.

since i am a righty, i think the fingerprint reader is in a pretty good location. the wrist area on the dv7t is huge and i have both palms right next to the touch pad - no where near the finger print reader, so i dont have any problems at all. as i type this, my right wrist is maybe 3 or 4 inches away from the fingerprint reader. so i dont think it's in an inconvenient location.

I kinda like the system hardware badges so I only got rid of the Energy Star and the warning label since they're kind of in the way when I type.

in my case, a couple of the stickers were actually a *little* crooked and it bothered me until ripped them all off leaving this thing lookin' nakey.
DV7T debadged! LOL
