I bought a DV7T and noticed the IR receiver at the front. Is there any way I could program my Comcast universal remote to work with it? I wasn't supposed to get a remote was I (I didn't get the TV tuner)?

I got the DV5T two days ago, I got a mini remote even though I did not buy the TV tuner... I wasn't expecting to get it. You should have gotten one.

Did it come straight in the express card slot? I just got a plastic insert in mine.

Should be in the included accessories. A dummy will be installed out of the box.

Here are the usual PEBKAC errors with the Xpress card remote:

    - We've had a few users putting the remote battery in the wrong way and wondering why it doesnt work.

    - We've had users having problem getting the xpress card remote out of the notebook.

    - Users that cant find the remote

The IR works with Microsoft MCE remote controls. I sometimes leave my HP laptop in standby mode in the living room which I also have a dedicate home theater PC with IR port which takes the same remote. When I use the MCE to control my home theater PC, I sometimes accidently turn on my laptop at the same time. Sometimes frustrating because I have to get up and turn the laptop off.
