With a coupon they are about the same I just get less ram and a smaller HDD with the 16T.

What are the less problems?

Can anyone please tell me why there are less issues with the HDX 16T over the DV7T?

easy - the dv7t has been out longer and thus there are more people with it as opposed to the hdx16 or hdx18.
i have had a dv7t since august 08 and i've had no problems with the unit. as with all electronics, there are lemon units that go out unfortunately.
for an accurate comparison of which has less/more problems, wait a few more months until there are hdx16s and hdx18s out on peoples desktops.
i believe the hdx18 was released around the same time or a little after the dv7t, but the hdx16 was released at least a couple of months after that. -
I think I'm going to keep the order for the DV7T then. It doesn't sound like there should be to many problems then.

^ exactly. i too jumped to conclusions reading other peoples reviews/bashings but then when i got my unit, i was in heaven.
the only bad sides i can even come up with is the screen. i use my unit mostly at night, since i work and go to school fulltime, and i have no problems with it. i can see that if you use the computer outdoors or by a large and bright window, you'll probably have glare problems but that varies on a case by case basis.
aside from that, i've had no other problems. no overheating/excessive heat AND i have the fastest CPU available on the dv7t (t9600), i dont have any touch bar/button issues, no issues with whining, etc etc etc.
when you get the unit, you have 21 days to use/test/evaulate as much as you want, 24 hours a day if you wish. that way, you can flush out any 'problems' that you feel the unit may have and you get a full refund. test it under all lighting conditions, test it while gaming, etc etc etc. you have 21 days to return it even if your dog sneezed on it. -

additionally - do what i did - get your unit and start with page 1 of the dv7t thread. go page by page lookin' at the problems people reported and ensure you are not experiencing them on your own unit. that thread is pretty comprehensive in that all of the issues that dv7t owners have had are within that thread somewhere.
