So...I will be purchasing an OBHD from Newmodeus, this specific model. I will be getting an SSD for the OS, and will keep my 2 500gb HDD in this bad boy .

I haven't been able to find someone that has done this to their DV7, but it doesn't hurt to try it out, I got lots to gain and not that much to lose I guess.

Once I get it, I will post pictures with the process and end result.

    Any thoughts, comments, advise??

Yep, its quite insane, never thought that I would try to get this lappie up to 1+TB of Hard drive space when I bought it. But hey...that's why we are here for...see what our machines are capable of...I'm just trying to get the best out of it before I gather enough money for the G73jh...

I have postponed this project due to $$$ reasons :( :(...I still have everything saved in their respective shopping carts and hopefully I will be able to get them before the end of the month...the only thing missing would be the SSD...

cool, join the waiting game as most of us are doing. the intel 80gb ssd drive went from $299 to $223 this month alone on amazon. by the end of the year, ihope this drive gets to like $100 - then i may pick one up :)

aside - my boss got a 256gb samsung ssd drive w/128mb cache for his lenovo laptop... he backed up 8 gigs from one partition on the drive to another - i believe the copy took like 4 minutes. these drives are absolutely crazy. instead of spending $200 on a lower end drive now, i'd hold off and get a higher end drive once the prices come down.

just a thought :) this is my plan, anyway.
