I am having problem with my laptop stuttering everytime i played any bluerays, DVD or any high quality avi file.

I've installed a few games: sc2 and aika online, and experiencing the same issue.

Then I realized that before it would stutter/lag the hd led light would blink orange for a little while then back to white.

From what i've read online it is caused by HP 3D drive guard which I uninstall and reinstall just to see if the problem goes away.

I've even goes as far as re-installing Windows 7 x64 and the problem persist even when the 3D Drive guard is not installed.

The laptop is almost brand new (2month old) and I wonder if this points to hardware issue.

Please let me know if you have any suggestion to fix this issue :)

    Thx Much

I am in the same boat as you. The laptop seemed perfect for the first month and now is seeming to degrade in performance constantly. I have tried reformatting, and disabling every peice of junkware I could. I am convinced there is something terribly wrong with these laptops. I have already sent it in, and they replaced the Bluray Drive. This repair accomplished nothing to fix my issues.

    1. videos stutter (streaming and dvd's)
    2. starcraft 2 went from 70fps to unplayable.
    3. the computer often cannot keep up with my typing if there is any amount of multitasking going on.

Wow, you're stuttering playing Aika? The graphics requirement for that game is so low. Definitely something up.... it's flawless on my dv6.
