This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I'm having a loud pop/boom sound which seems to be coming from the sub woofer. It happens during boot up, sleep, and shut down. I've tried reinstalling drivers, updating via HP.com, and updating via windows update. Is this just a dud computer? Sound I send it back or something?

    I found a page here from HP that says you can't really fix it without getting hardware replaced.
