    Hey all,

I tried to search the archive in relation to my problem, but search results were either too specific (0 results) or too broad! (200+ results).

As the subject suggests, My screen typically displays 50% on the right side (the left side will usually sit black or even green!) BUT will occasionally flicker on (almost 100% visible!). - I will try to get some photos / youtube vids for a more specific description but in the mean time, If you can try to help me out before I go out ordering parts. I dont think its the video card cause I can output it PERFECT on my monitor / TV.

I have been doing a little research and so far I THINK I can narrow this down to one of 3 things.

    1) Cable that connects the LCd to the video card
    2) inverter
    3) LCD screen

this is in order of 'preffered' repair job (cheapest first! :p)

    Many thanks in advance!

    Peter

it could just be a loose cable....have you tried reattaching the lcd cable (not that i would know how to disassemble an lcd screen....)

as you can see there are moments where the screen goes kinda normal. I disconnected the whole thing and reconnected all the cables where possible, still the same!

Thanks in advance for the replies!

It might be a bad cable, does the picture change when you move the screen back and forth?

There's nothing wrong with your inverter. The inverter only powers the backlight, so if the inverter wasn't working the whole screen would be dark.

No it doesnt, it seems random.

Like, when I tilt the screen etc, nothing happens. BUT

When the screen turns off (in battery mode) and I press a key / move the mouse, the screen will USUALLY come back on WITH the majority of the screen working!

I noticed it makes like a slight buzzing sound when it displays HALF the screen, almost as though its TRYING to work?! - I ordered an inverter, if it aint that, I guess I will get nother cable...

I will keep this post informed in case anyone else would ever experience this!

i 2 have this problem, though it is more severe!

i am fairly sure that the inverter is ok as the backlight comes on and does not flicker or dim at all, its rather bright!

however, i have lines on my screen, and cannot figure out why

    (see attachment pic)

i suspect the video cable but if anyone has any thing to add, please do so as i need this lappy back ASAP

    cheers
