Does anyone know who makes the mobo's for the dv8000t? I am trying to find otu who built this motherboard so i can see if a Merom is an option for this mobo. They are the smae socket and size, but I want to find out if a Bios change or update is needed.....

CPU-Z will tell you the brand. Just click on the "mainboard" (3rd) tab and it should be the first thing you see.

CPU-Z will probably say HP. Any BIOS update will likely have to come from HP which seems unlikely since they want you to buy a new notebook.

all the Pavillion series notbooks form HP are HP OEM Motherboards... and they do make Bios updates for them.
