    DV9000 12 cell battery?

    The 9000 series has been out quite a few months now.

    Has anyone found a 12 cell battery for it yet?

    I'll ask you this before I say anything.......post the MODEL number of your existing battery. If it matches mine, I can point you in the right direction. If it doesn't then you may want to contact HP.

    kittmaster, what is the HP pn for your 12 cell batt? is it for a dv9000 series Intel or AMD cpu?

    I don't know if we'll ever see a 12 cell for this beast. My 8 cell will pull 3 hrs on vista's 'power saver' setting so I guess I can live with that for now.

    You're not going to see a 12-cell battery for the dv9000t. It's not designed to have an extended battery of any type, plus, there are limits on the number of cells that can be placed in a laptop and still be cleared for safe use in the US.

    This statement makes no sense!

    I've seen other 12 cell batteries for HP's that stick out of the bottom, & the 9000 series should be no different!

    Also, not to mention 12 cell batteries for other notebooks already exist as well.

    With my Gateway 8510 I get 3 hrs on the factory 8 cell & 6.5 hrs on the 12 cell.

    I was hoping HP would come around & give us 9000 series owners the same 12 cell capability that other HP series notebook owners have gotten/

    Guess not, for now anyway.

    HP must specifically design a laptop for a 12-cell battery so it can stick out of the back and not just the bottom. You shouldn't have bought this laptop if you needed battery life so much.

    It's not that I need so much battery life, but I like to always keep a spare battery whether it be for my laptop, digital camera, or whatever other portable electronic device I have.

    I just wanted to know if a 12 cell had been out yet before I buy another 8 cell.
