Does anyone have and rattling noises coming from around the touchpad area on their DV9000 while typing?

Can't say that I do. That seems like a very strange problem. Do your headphone and mic ports work?

It seems like the plastic case surrounding the touchpad and keyboard rattles and makes noise when you type or tap on it. I bought it a Circuit City and they looked at it and couldn't find anything wrong. Everything works on it.

I have that problem, too. I think all the dv9000s have it. I went to a Bestbuy store, tested two of them there by tapping on the case with my finger and I heard the same noise. It's coming from the lock hole (pardon my English, I don't know the exact part name) just next to touchpad. Inserted a piece of paper there, so that that lock thingy is pushed inwards and no more moving. And now I've no noise while typing. I just love this notebook and try to ignore these problems (you know the other high pitched noise new pavillions have, right?).

Actually, I don't really have the noise from the processor that a lot of people have.

I think canyidiz76 is right. If I push in the lid release and tap on the lid, no more noise. Good quality.
