    DV9000 only finishes post after 4 restarts

    Hi first post on here and hope someone can shed some light on this problem, i have a DV9000 i am working on that needed the all common reball of the nvidia chip as it was shutting off after a couple of seconds and not even reaching the logo screen, after the reball it starts up fine enter bios etc and no problems, but when i put the dvd rom back in it and start up it shuts down before completing post and restarts, it seems to restart when looking for boot devices and finds one, if i leave this restarting it will always boot on the 4th time, i am booting from cd into knoppix as i dont have the hard drive connector although i am recieving it in the post very soon, its as if the ide controllers are not responding or failing untill the 4th time around, could it be a capacitor that is failing and needs 4 cycles to work, i have never seen this before and hope someone out there has, have tried another cpu also tried other ram modules in different slots, tried it with and without wirless card and with / without modem cable plugged in all with same results
