I have a HP dv9000. It' won't start up. I have a blank screen, with the HDD light running. Meaning that the laptop is functional. So I connected it to an external monitor. It showed me overlapped and garbled text. I used a bartpe CD to get into it, as Windows vista used to hang up and was very slow. I managed to upgrade the Bios. But stil to no avail. It has the same problem. i took it to the Hp service center. As it was out of warranty, they were charging me a lot for the motherboard replacement. I bought it back. Can someone give me a clue as to what really is the problem.

    Regards,
    Ghaffar Ahmed.
