I have had my laptop for a about a week now, i was one of those customers who had their laptop held up in customs for a few days. Well After a week of playing around with it i love it, and im sure there is more things in vista that i can play around with.

But i have a couple of questions.

Is there a sleeve that anyone recommends for the dv9000t keep in mind that it is 17" display .. i prefer one with no handles because i already have the backpack. and the sleeve is just for storage when im not using it instead of putting it in the backpack all of the time.

Also i want to my some speakers for the laptop, the intergrated speakers are fine. But i want external speakers. Can anybody point me in the right direction i have had my eye on these Bose Companion 2 speakers that they have in BJ's For about 70 bucks, are they compatible with my notebook or do i not have the right inputs.. or are there any other speakers you might recommend

You can have a look at this topic. You might find something there.

I don't know of any good sleeves for a 17" notebook, so I can't recommend anything for you. I use a Heys epac17 backpack for my 17".

As for the speakers, the Bose Companion 2 is a good 2.0 set of speakers.
You can also have a look at a 2.1 set, something like the Logitech Z-2300 2.1 Speaker System or Klipsche Promedia 2.1.
Your current sound card should be fine for a 2.0 (or 2.1) speaker set. If you plan to get a 5.1 you'll need to invest in a USB or ExpressCard slot sound card.

I just got a sleeve for my 17" dv9000t. It's from waterfield. I really like it. You can customize it pretty much any way you want it, so if you are going to use it for a backpack (like I plan to, if I ever find a good and big enough backpack), then just customize it with a flap, vertical...and you don't' really need the piggyback or strap. I got them for mine, but I can always take them off.
