It looks like it dropped $100.00. I've tracked the 6000z since it went onsale, and it appears it has dropped about $300.00. Hopefully the 9000z will drop a little more too.

It used to say "from 1299". Now it says "from 1199".

It's on the front page of this site, under the news post of current laptop deals :) 200 off works on any HP Pavillion notebook. You've got until 9/2/06 to use it. You fill it in at the very end of the check out process.

I don't like the way of HP config their different models. They put all high-end Turion/Sempron and GPU in desktop replacement, but nothing in portable models.
I am looking for Sempron 3500+, and other people are looking for TL-60. But only can be found in 9000Z giant. Why not in smaller size?

i think they want people to see dv9000z as a high-end notebook.. maybe 2-3 months from now, they'll have it installed on dv6000 and dv2000

No. Just take a look at TL-60 spec, it runs on 35W Max TDP. The Turion single core in Compaq V2000 runs ML-37(35W) perfectly. More worse, the Sempron runs at 25W. So what on earth makes HP just doesn't want to plug in higher speed? CPU heat is not the issue at all.

Maybe HP wants people to pay premium for premium performance, thus, includes them in only higher end (more expensive and larger) notebooks...
