    DV9000t Monitor Drivers

    I've had my dv9000t for a few days now, and I love it. But it's giving me a headache (literally).

    I ripped off Vista Home Premium, and installed Ultimate. Now the screen refresh rate only has 60hz (I didn't look at it before the ripping off).

    Are there some monitor drivers I'm missing?

    i know. i was surprised myself. i usually go with 120 hz refresh rate. a lot less stress on the eyes.

    I don't think the DV9000 is meant for gaming but rather a more on the entertainment aspect.

    but still 60 hz ?? for entertainment ?? ..
    it could had been at least 75 hz.. people are paying good amounts of money to get a laptop which has everything to suffice for the next 2 to 3 years at least. who knows in the near future videos (on the entertainment aspect) might not play and would need better refresh rates.. its quite possible. So then what do we do? use it as an mp3 player? Well an iPod does better than that these days !!

    Guys are you hooking it up to a CRT?
    Pixel backlight illumination on lcd screens is always on and what changes is specific pixel data - the pixel response rate - measured in milliseconds. There is no reason for flicker on these screens.

    The CRT refresh rate figure is the times in second which the electron gun illuminates the screen and decays as it passes a specific point, thus the aparant flicker on low frequencies and strain to the human eye.

    The refresh rate setting doesn't matter on LCD's..

    i have a dv6000t and it can only go at 60hz no higher no lower (with the built in monitor)

    Uhhh guys LCD is liquid crystal display, theres no need for a refresh rate since it's always locked at that and measured in milliseconds response time (the lower the better).

    I agree with what the others have said.... LCD is impartial to refresh rate, that's why it's fixed at 60hz.... if it's giving you a headache it's something else.
