Im sure someone else out there has installed 64bit vista on their dv9000. I currently still have two unknown base devices if anyone can help me figure out what they are to get it installed correctly it would greatly be appreciated.

It should just be the card reader drivers.
For my system, it turned out to be sp34373 from the hp ftp, but I don't know about yours for sure. HP hasn't posted them yet on the website, but here's a direct link to the drivers on their ftp: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34001-34500/sp34373.exe -
That wont work for me. It says I need the 64bit ones for this machine
-
You need to use winrar to extract the file to a subdirectory, then run setup from within the x64 directory.
Both 32-bit and 64-bit drivers are included, but the main setup file is for the 32-bit drivers. -
the download file is an exe file how can i run it with winrar? they arent zipped
and what do you mean run it withing the x64 directory -
I know it's an exe, but it's still just a special kind of compressed file. If you already tried to run it, you should have a directory called C:\swsetup\SP34373 on your hard drive. Go there. Then go into the x64 directory. Then run DPInst.exe and the drivers will install.
If you haven't already run the main exe, launch WinRAR and open that exe file, and you can extract it wherever you want. -
I found it and installed it. The unknown devices are now gone. Thanks a ton. Now to fix my sound lol. If I could get the nvidia drivers to keep their settings all would be good. I think. Although I have yet to find the 3d flip thing. I did notice while I was playing EQ2 that I used up to 1.75 gigs of ram lol. Could you explain this ready boost deal? I dont really understand it.
-
I lost the good drivers conexant drivers now lol they keep failing since i kept playing around.
-
I found some Conexant HD Audio drivers on the HP ftp also. I'll post those in the thread I made of all HP Vista drivers here in a few minutes. Flip 3d is just Windows Key + Tab (instead of Alt + Tab).
Vista always uses most of your free RAM as a cache for files off your hard disk it thinks you may need. ReadyCache is just an extension of this that uses a USB Flash Drive or SD card device. It works well enough, but on a system with 2 GB of RAM, it's not a huge difference. -
What was that other thread? Ill go look at it and try to get the drivers for my sound so it works again. Guess I wont bother getting flash card then since its not going to help on a system with 2gig.
-
AAhhh I thoguht the flip 3d was always on and such lol. guess its not that great if its just an alt tab
-
Oh yeah have you found where you can view the webcam yet? According to the device manager its installed but Im not sure where to find it
-
Webcam doesn't work correctly with the included Microsoft driver and I haven't come across one on HP's site... yet.
-
Gotcha. Trying to install the audio again now. hopefully it works again after this lol. Only one didnt give me an error. But who knows if its going to work. So far only the M$ one worked. Wished I wouldnt have played wiht it now.
-
If one didn't give you an error then it should be good... all errored out on my system. My patience with HP is waning quickly.
-
One did install but still have the error. Dont know what to do now lol Ive even tried uninstalling it.
I cant get adobe 8 to install now either. It says the drive is full or I dont have rights lol Well im the admin and the drive isnt even at 50%
Have you gotten the hp lanch buttons to work? I cant get the program to run so that I can associate the buttons with what I want -
Anyone else notice that the wireless doesnt seem to connect as good with Vista? I sit right below my router and now im only getting about half the signal i was before.
