I've tried doing searches, but I couldn't find anything.

I recently installed Vista Ultimate on my DV9000t. My only major issue is I can't get the HP Expresscard Remote to work anymore. I can't find any IR Device under the Device Manager. I was able to get the Quicklauch Buttons working with Quickplay 3.0.

Are there any specific drivers to get the IR receiver working again? How can I get the HP Expresscard Remote to work?

    Thanks,
    clarkrj82

there wont be any drivers for the infrared and it wont be in the device manager because it is not regular IR.... only designed to receive from that particular remote.
Try to start quickplay or windows media center and see if it works when those programs are running.

I tried quickplay and media center, and it still won't respond to the remote.

Perhaps you need to fix your keyboard drivers? The remote just send keyboard events as if you pressed those shiny blue buttons on the top of your keyboard.

Well, did updating the keyboard drivers work? I am expecting my Cosco Refurb dv9000t to arrive on Tuesday 4/3. It's preloaded w/ MCE, but I want to upgrade to Vista Ultimate so I am curious about this.
    Thanks,

Actually, I just reread the post. I didn't realize that it doesn't work because you installed the OS from scratch. I thought it just suddenly stopped working.

You'd have to find a way to get Windows to recognize those keys and bind events to them. I have no idea how to do that. Perhaps someone around here might know...

So I was trolling around the HP website and came across this procedure document which details how to install Vista using an easily downloadable utility containg the upgraded BIOS for Vista. You can find it here.

I did fix my remote issue, but it was because I did another clean install of Vista. Then I installed all the drivers available in Windows Update. Then I installed Quickplay 3.0. I tested the Expresscard Remote and it works perfectly. Thanks for all of the input.

No drivers needed at all in any OS to test, as the arrow buttons simply send keyboard events.
