Hey,
Just got a dv9010 and after have to do pc recovery on it once already, I am loving it. However, I do alot of reading, researching, typing on my laptop and I found the screen to be quite irritating to my eyes, and give me a headache. I have a Geforce Go 6150, and I tried changing the nvidia settings. (ie. color vibrance, brightness, gama).
I have yet to find a configuration that works for me. Some are great for reading and typing, while the same configuration will be absolutely horrible for viewing pictures. Do you guys mind posting which settings you have found work great for your 17'' screens?
Also, is it just me, or is it really hard to switch from reading a normal 15'' screen, to a widescreen 17'' (ie. distance eyes have to move), maybe thats causing the strain and headaches??
Any help is appreciated!!

Another option to help is to NARROW the size of windows so your eyes don't have to move so far back and forth...
I had a dv8000t with the 1680x1050 screen, ran it at 1680x1050.... if your's is 1440, run it at 1440 as most lcd's look best at the native resolution.
Another thing is font size.... and something called "Cleartype".... -

Maybe you need to turn down the brightness a bit? fn-F7. Changing the nVidia settings won't dim the backlight that's likely causing your eyestrain.
Ditto WeAreNotAlone's suggestions. -
I eventually figured out some settings I think are good. And thanks for the suggestions, I can always resize the window when doing something reading intensive.
Boy do I love this forum. You guys are great! -
So was the FN+ F7 the "fix"?
PS: When you go on battery power the display should dim... -
