Ok, so i've got my 3yr old dv9035nr which has been rock solid and still going. I've upgraded the ram to 4GB, and want to see if I can upgrade the core. Problem is I dont know what the max cpu I can get that is comptaible for my baby.

    this is what i've got:
    T5500 - Core 2, 2M Cache, 1.66 GHz, 667 MHz FSB

its on sockets: PBGA479 or PPGA478
Product Specifications HP Pavilion dv9035nr Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

I assume I can upgrade to one of these:
    T9500 - 6M Cache, 2.60 GHz, 800 MHz FSB
    or
    T7700 - 4M Cache, 2.40 GHz, 800 MHz FSB

I'm hoping I can upgrade to the T9500 (if I can find it)...

Any comments? I assume the i3 or i7's are not comptaible with my chipset.

I think the dv9000 has two hard drive bays, so the first thing you should do before you upgrade the processor is to throw in an SSD. Much better return on investment.

Both of processors use socket P wont work for your notebook

    Try processors with socket M, T7200, T7400 or T7600.
