I have a DV9220US on the way that of course comes pre-loaded with Vista. My intention was to either replace Vista, or install in another partition XP Pro. But then it dawned on me..how do I get XP installed. I looked at the drivers available for this model and there is nothing for the SATA controller. I have also seen where some people have posted that the unit does NOT come with recovery CD/DVDs for re-installation, these have to be ordered separately.

I have had issues in the past with installing Windows on some of the newer lower end Proliant servers that did not have a floppy, and using a SATA controller that Windows did not support on Disc. Getting a USB floppy to use can solve one issue, but if there are no drivers, then I am screwed anyways.

So I am wondering now, has anyone installed XP Pro on one of these DV9220US Intel Core Duo laptops? If so is it a pretty painful task to accomplish?
