I have a DV9220US that runs somewhat hot when playing a game (Diablo2). This is primarily because the game is written to use as much CPU as it can get rather than use the GPU. I would like to lower my clock speed some to keep it cooler. Is there a simple utility I can use to get the CPU to run lower? The CPU is Intel Core2Duo-1.60C

You can play in battery saver mode, which puts a cap on CPU speed. Or tweak the cap in the control panel.
