What are the main reasons that someone would get a DV9500 vs a DV9000? I have seen the DV9000 for as low as $600 (Office Depot ad a few weeks ago) and when outfitted with 2gb ram, 2.2ghz AMD, 200gb HD, abgn w/ bluetooth, etc. it still was only $850. The same specs on a DV9500 with an Intel processor are like $1250.
I don't plan on using the laptop for gaming.
Thanks for the help. Also, if anyone has seen a DV9500 with the same specs listed above for $1000 or less, please let me know where.
Another question I have is on HDMI outputs. I have seen that DV9500s have these but not the DV9000s. If you don't have an HD-DVD drive on the laptop, is there a reason that you need an HDMI output? If I was outputing say a downloaded divx video to my LCD would I notice a difference if it was in HDMI vs S-Video vs USB? Thanks

You have two choices for using an external monitor with a dv9500t.
1. You can use the DB15 VGA port for analog output. Looks 'oh-kay', but not nearly as good as digital.
2. You can use the HDMI output (only on models with NVidia graphics) with an HDMI-to-DVI cable to connect to your LCD monitor. This is all digital and will give the best possible picture quality. I'm using this setup with an hp w2007 LCD monitor and it works great.
