    Question (1):

Might someone with a DV9500T equiped with a T7500 and Windows x64 be kind enough to run the VMWare Processor Check for 64-Bit Compatibility utility (small download - no install - it is safe to run) and let us know the result (yes or no) located here:

    http://www.vmware.com/download/ws/drivers_tools.html

    Question (2):
Does the media card reader support SD cards that are larger than 1 gig?

    Question (3): Upgrading 4gb ram:

    (a) As I understand it, with the chipset installed, there is no advantage to buying DDR2-800 over DDR2-667, Correct?

(b1) Will the NVIDA 8600 soak up the additional 2 gigs of ram?

(b2) Is the NVIDA 8600 configurable to leave more available for the OS? (or)

(b3) Does the NVIDA 8600 not do anything with the additional ram?

    (c) What sort of memory will I see available after the upgrade? Where does any leftover memory (if any) go to?

Question (4): Any RAID possibilites under Vistax64? I notice that the manual states that "RAID Software not required for second hard drive".

Sorry for all the questions (and thanks in advance)!!!

[rant on] I orginally ordered the machine with one hard drive, then found out if you dont order two, you cant get the bracket for the second disk. I had to cancel the order, and start over, delaying the machine an additional day.
If anyone wants a couple of new 120 gig sata drives, I will be selling them (along with a several new 160 IDE's, and a couple of 80 IDE's).
    [rant off]

    Again, Thanks in advance,

    Joe

The media card reader does support larger than 1GB. I have an 2GB SD myself and it works fine.

no advantage to getting DDR2-800 cuz the chipset just doesnt support it, all it will do is either not run or run at 667mhz.

On a 32bit system yes you will only see 3GB or less but with 64bit you should get the full 4GB i assume

No the 8600M GS has dedicated memory that cannot be reduced, you can probably disable turbocache if it is enabled and using more than the dedicated memory.

It probably doesnt need the additional RAM and turbocache is useless. if u mean the RAM from the 4GB it is not going to be used cuz Windows 32bit is simply unable to recognise this RAM period.

as mentioned leftover memory that is not seen in Windows is just simply unused as windows will just not recognize it exists.
