    Hello,

On the DV9500T, would I see any gain from switching to the new 3gbs SATA drives (such as the WD Scorpio 320 GB, 3 Gb/s, 8 MB Cache, 5400 RPM)?

I believe the current drives are only 1.5gbs.

Will these new drives work in the DV9500T?

FWIW, Cant wait to see the specs for the new Hitachi 500gb drive due out next month!

    Thanks in advance,

    Joe

I doubt it. The thing is the rate at which the drive reads the magnetic plates is much lower than 100MB/s. So even 1.5Gb/s is about 200MB/s, and 3Gb/s is about twice of that, but your drive is probably reading the data at around 50 maybe 60MB/s.
