    DV9535nr - Loaded XP - No sound

    I've been trying now for days (a week roughly) to get a good install of XP on my DV9535nr that will offer sound.

    Seems like I can get everything else working OK that is essential, except sound.

    I followed this thread pretty much religiously..

    But still haven't had any luck. I've uninstalled XP Pro, and re-installed at least 4 maybe 5 times and started all over... Still no luck...

    I'm assuming the laptop has RealTek HD audio on it because that is what was in the SWSetup folder that I backed up when it had Vista on it.

    And yes, sound worked on Vista....

    I get a "Device cannot start - error code 10" in device manager.

    Any ideas????

    Did you install the MS UAA drivers before trying to install the audio drivers?? If you didnt then install it( Link) and then try installing the audio drivers.
