Ok. This is an amazing resource. I can't believe that we managed the downgrade from Vista without it. Sure would have went faster!

On our machine, the internal mic is not working.

We read through the Nvidia/AMD sticky about the downgrade, and the audio driver install instructions did apply to this machine. Mention of .inf file mods i've seen (dave's incredible thread) refer to the other venice and waikiki(sp?) audio, and seemingly not to 5051.

The only audio driver we've managed to get working on the machine is 3.30.
4.8.0 will not work, and I did manually point the driver to the device through device manager, select device/driver from the list, etc.

I understand that the 5051 is relatively newer.

Simply stated, does anyone know of a way to get this internal mic to work with XP? Thank You!
