I have the laptiop Compaq presario B1900.. and my dvd drive is : Cd/DVDW TS-L632D ATA Device..

Now the problem is i cant read some DVD's with this. Some times it is showing like "Please insert a disc in to the drive"

Some times its showing upon opening the drive icon like " Drag files to this and burn" even if the disc having the data. And if i tried for two more times then i will get the content.

I tried it with by loading the last best configuration.

I have installed the nero 8 on my laptop. And just now i disable the UAC feature tooo...Still the problem is there.

Can u any one please help me out??

Do you have more than 1 CD/DVD Burning software installed in your laptop?

You should check to see if there's new firmware for your dvd drive. If that doesn't work you're going to have to either buy a new drive or send it in to hp for repair.
