I am getting ready for road trip with my DV6567cl. Thing is with my DV9000 I learned quickly not to use Quick Play and use Media Center. I could control the volume alot louder which worked great on the plane. Plenty of volume to over come the plane noise.

So I was preparing by listening(not so much watching) a DVD and couldn't get it to play that loud even when turned up to the max. I figure there must be something I am missing. Is there? I used my ear buds and headphones for comparison. Wasn't any better with either.

I really don't want to breakdown and get noise cancelling headphones or earbuds, cause I have don't my home work and wouldn't know which ones to buy anyways.

Any ideas...I have a couple of days before I leave. Thanks for your suggestions.

HP's newest audio drivers are noticeably quieter than the previous ones. I'd recommend installing the older drivers and seeing if that helps. :)

Ahhh...OK - I decided to go a different direction based on what you indicated. I brought home a pair of USB headphones from work to try. They offer the best solution. I went and bought a set of Logitech 350s. They work equally as good if not better.
