    Hi guys...

Dont know if this is the right place to post this. But I have a problem with the DVD drive of my HP Pavillion dv4-1257tx. At first, I could not create the recovery DVDs for Windows Vista. But then I contacted HP and then they had to send me the disks. But now, I find that I cannot burn CDs/DVDs on my drive. And whenever I load a CD/DVD, it takes ages to read data or not at all reads them. I am yet to burn a single CD/DVD on this drive. I tried using CyberLink Power2Go v6.0.2119 and also the default program in Windows. It just doesnt burn anything
Here is the error report I got from Power2Go

The Pioneers are pretty bad drives. The one in my dv9700 reads fine but burns really slowly, and sometimes it takes a few tries for burning to start. I have even taken it apart to tweak it but found out that they maxed it out from the factory so any laser adjustments will most likely fry it. My DV5 has an Optiarc (Sony) and that works well.

You should tell HP to send you a new one.
