I bought an HP Pavilion DV6000 and ever since I got it I have been having the Blue Screen of Death. On top of that, four months after I bought the laptop, my broadcom wifi card burt out and they sent me a replacement... I replaced it and it still didn't work. So it took a few days to get a box to send it in and when it arrived I sent it out. I got my laptop back yesterday but the right hinge was broken and I now didn't have a genuine copy of my Windows Vista Home Premium.
I called HP back and they said I could send the laptop back in the same way I did before but that would take another two weeks. I am a school student and I haven't had a working laptop for about a month and as a film student I NEED to have my laptop every day. HP said I could talk to their head represenitive (who is the only one that can authorize giving me a new laptop/upgrade/refund).
So has anyone else had any problems with HP customer care? Also, do you think I will be able to get a replacement/upgrade/refund?

I have had so many problems with hp customer care recently. I sent my laptop to hp at the end of june. It was a dv9000 with a single amd processor. I have been on the phone lots of hours with customer care, on hold, being hung up on, not being called back by the case managers, you get the idea. Long story short, I still havn't got my laptop back even though its been there since june. They finally called last week and offered me a new dv9500 fully spec'd out like to how i wanted because they couldn't repair it and because they have taken so long, and my new laptop will be here the 8th. it has the top dual core processor, 12 cell and 6 cell battery, 160 hd, 4gb memory. It has everything, what is crazy is my old dv9000 was like $600ish but the replacement laptop will be worth more that i think. So, my advice is talk to a case manager because the total care people will give you the run around and keep you on hold.

WOW! You are getting back like a $3000 laptop. That is awesome. The thing is my problem is easy for them to fix though (fix hinge and put in a premium copy of Vista) but hopefully due to sake of speed and the length of my problem they will give me a new one.

I bought Compaq notebook from the store and they offered me 5 year warranty so they can replace notebook new one if it still in the stock if not they can replace any other notebook I hope it is better than HP Total Care.
