Hey,
When i shut my laptop down for a few hours (overnight) and turn it back on my date and time is always wrong. It sets to feb 8 2006 for some reason. I fix the time and data and then when i shut down and start up , it is wrong again.
This doesnt happen when I restart and it doesnt always happen when i shut down either.
Can someone please help me with this, or can tell me what the problem is. I have done a system restore which didnt help.

I would suggest you go set your time in BIOS, so restart your laptop and press F10 when prompted, set the time, save and exit.
After you logged in Windows, double click on Time at the bottom right corner and bring up its property, in the "internet time" tab, make sure the Automatic synchronization is checked, this way you will always have the most accurate time.
The problem might be the little atomic battery inside the laptop is dying or (already dead), the only thing this battery does is actually just keep up the time right. -
Didnt help. I set the correct time and date. I checked the box to let the time come from windows. I checked my bios and the time and date were right.
But when i shut down for the night, I turned my computer on and the date and time were wrong again. This time it was feb 9 2006 and i think it was 11 pm.
I called hp they told me to do a system restore which I have already tried. So i am just going to exchange my laptop unless someone knows how to fix this.
Thank You
