That is actually not true. There are some people who received their dv5ts. Read the official dv5t thread, and you'll find some lucky people :D

Did you read the official dv5t thread? If you haven't, read pages after page 23 or 25.

Wow, I have had my dv5t for three days, so someone is slightly missinformed. Yes it gets warm when you load up the CPU. 91 C is the highest cpu temp I have recorded so far. As I mentioned in the official dv5t lounge, the only heat issue I find slightly bothersome is the warm left wrist area. Otherwise a good replacement for my DV6500.

Oh! nwperformance... Have you run a CPU benchmark?
Sorry.. I don't know any special software program for benchmarks, but I hope to see how well T9600 performs...

I have had mine for two days now, and it does seem to get rather warm. Like nwperformance said, the left wrist away does get pretty warm. Other than that the bottow gets very warm, but that's expected. One thing that helps the heat issue is if you raise the back of the laptop about an 1/2''.

Its warm, but its not that warm...I have had mine for a a few day played a lot of World of Warcraft on it and no bad things have occurred so far.

Get your facts straight man... Don't spread wrong information. If you don't know the answer to a question, just sit back and let the people who know provide the answer.

    I guess so. :p
That was my last understanding, that they weren't being shipped until aug 5, because Intel isn't officially releasing that chipset until then. :p

CPU @ 91*C? I think you mean GPU. My CPU is not getting above 64*C.

The HP dv5t does not have a heating problem . . . yes it gets warm if you leave it running on a flat surface, but simply raising the back of the notebook up takes ten degrees Celsius off the GPU. My 9600M-GT runs at 81 - 83*C at full load when the back of the notebook is raised up a half-inch.

    See my posts here:

    . . . and here:

Chaz, you happy with this laptop, it's on my short list, not popped up in the Uk as of yet, as I want to feel and see it before I get it.. and a potential issue is we can't config them over here..

GPU on mine stays cooler than CPU. I am reading things correctly. Your program shows similar numbers. I think the T9600 is not the best CPU to go with at this point. I wonder if anyone else has a dv5t with this processor to compare with.

I am happy with it so far, though I need a little more time with it to make conclusions.
91*C is very hot for a CPU . . . according to Intel, the T9600 is rated for 105*C, but keep in mind you are getting close to that. If a lot of people have that temperature . . . I guess it's the way HP designed it to be.
