Looking for some advice folks if I may.

I bought a Presario 2500 (2511EA) in Feb last year and as of last week, it's all but been declared dead. Here's the symptoms - anyone else experienced this?

    1. Battery charges when AC adaptor comes on. Light lights up
    2. On pressing on button, system flickers for <1sec and then switches off
    3. No lights, no charge at all until reset button underneath is pressed.

Multiple AC adaptors have been tried - no change to the above
Laptop battery has been removed and then tried - no change to the above

Any thoughts? All I can think of is :

    1. Motherboard failure
    2. BIOS failure (BIOS battery is just fine btw)
    3. HDD failure (but that wouldn't switch the thing off would it?)
    4. Powerboard failure (although lights do come on)

I'm reluctant to pay out good money to be told it's a gonner as it's cash I need to replace it - probably.
