    Hi,

I bought an HP dv9700t CTO a while back, and there are what I think are dead pixels at the top of the screen. There are about 5 spots along the top that have dead pixels, one with 1 pixel dead, one with about 6, another with about 4, another with 9, and another with 6. Would HP fix/replace my display?

    Thanks!!

I'm sure that they would replace it free of charge, since it is still under warranty. Seeing that it has that many dead pixels (more than the minimum dead pixel limit for regular LCD monitors) they should fix it. Go on the HP site and chat with a technican online. They will send you a box to put it in and they pay for shipping and provide packing materials. Be sure to have your notebook model # and serial # handy.

They will wipe my hard drive when I send the laptop to them, right?

And one other thing I'm wondering is whether this could be due to some crap on the edge of the screen? Or is it definitely dead pixels?
