I trying to figure out if i have a dead pixle or not, i turned on my notebook today and i noticed that there is a dot on the top center of the screen. I's not bright, it's black and it's not bright, it's actualy dull in color. It looks like it's round and it takes up around 6 actual pixles. Does anybody have an idea on what that might be? I have a dv6129us with LCD brightview ect. I tried turning the the machine off and back on to see if it would fix it but no luck.
At first i thought the screen was dirty, but i was wrong. I only had this notebook for 1 and a half month.

Try cleaning the monitor GENTLY with a microfiber cloth or LCD specialty cleaner. If it is still there then you probably have a stuck pixel. If you want to try and rub it out, Google for "JScreenFix". It's a utility that might help to unstick that pixel...but you'll want to run it for a while. The website has some half-way decent instructions to give you the best chance to fix it yourself.

If you want to try and see it better, download Dead Pixel Buddy and check it out.

Have you carried the notebook around in a backpack or put something on top of it? Sadly enough, it doesn't take much to damage these fragile screens.

Try downloading this program. It will let you fill your screen with different colors to look for dead pixels. If this pixels don't go away, they are dead pixels. Also, I had a screen with a dead pixel, and sometimes, if you rub the screen gently, you can get them to become unstuck and go away. You may want to give that a try. I don't believe it is uncommon to have a cluster of dead pixels either, so that very may well be what you have. Help this helps.Good luck! :)

How long should i run the program (pixel fixer) for? And for the other possible solution how hard should i rub the area?
I can only see the dot if i look direcly at the screen, if i look at it from a 45 degree angle(in all directions) it goes away, and the pixels look normal. Could it be dirt or something inside the scree?
    The for the help.

In terms of running the screen, I wouldn't rub it too much harder than you would if you were trying to remove a finger print. You will have to put moderate pressure on it though. I just put some moderate pressure on it and kind of made circular motions around the area. I have had it work on one LCD and not another so it is a hit or miss. If it doesn't appear to be coming off, it probably isn't going to come off, so don't keep pushing.
