I am considering a blu ray laptop. HP's DV7 comes with a 128MB dedicated video at Best Buy. The DV7 at Walmart comes with 1GB of dedicated video. Will the 1GB video be that much worse than 128MB for battery life?
The BB Laptop with 128MB says 5hrs 15min, the WM laptop does not say.

What are the video cards?
Amount of video ram in itself doesn't mean much. -
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 128MB -
HD4200 is not dedicated, it is integrated and as such is one of worse GPu around. That said if you only do Office stuff without any graphic intensive files HD4200 is good enough. Yes it sucks less battery, how much only possible to know with testing. 5hr15min seems optimistic and depends probably what compromises were done like less screen ilumination etc. I have a DV7 with an HD4530 and the only time i spent the battery i could get around >3 hours.
Dedicated video bad for battery life? DV7
