So I was trying to un instal some of the insane amount of bloatware on my machine and I un installed quick play. I went to watch a bluray this evening and cannot get it to play for the life of me. Do I need to re-instal quick play (is that possible) or is there another program I can be using to play blurays on my dv7t.
Thank you

what program did you use before for blu ray playback? was it quickplay?

It actually says in the manual that quick play is the only program that can play blu-ray out of the box on the HP.
Off the top of my head, I don't know of any free alternatives. WinDVD can play it, but isn't free. -
Its possible to reinstall just go into you C Drive and SW Setup thats wher eyou drivers/default hp programs are located or you can download it at hp.com follow links to driver downloads for you model.

Thanks, ill give that a try. Ive only had the machine for a little over a week and watched 1 blu-ray. I must have used quickplay because i just put it in and it poped up.

I am looking around in there and cannot find anything quickplay related. Do you happen to know what the path is? Also I cant seem to find anything on their website to download. My model is the dv7t, i cant find where to dl quickplay on their website.
Thanks -
I just took a look on HP's website for the Dv7t and it appears that the QuickPlay program is not in the download files.
The path to re-install QuickPlay was as follows for the dv6000 series, I don't have a Dv7t:
C:\SWSETUP\QPW\Setup.exe -
Actually, that's a false statement on HP's part. Nero 8, specifically Nero ShowTime plays BluRays with the correct serial number for it. Also, CyberLink's PowerDVD also plays BluRays and HD-DVDs.
Deleted Quickplay..bluray doesnt work
