So I was trying to un instal some of the insane amount of bloatware on my machine and I un installed quick play. I went to watch a bluray this evening and cannot get it to play for the life of me. Do I need to re-instal quick play (is that possible) or is there another program I can be using to play blurays on my dv7t.

    Thank you

It actually says in the manual that quick play is the only program that can play blu-ray out of the box on the HP.

Off the top of my head, I don't know of any free alternatives. WinDVD can play it, but isn't free.

I just took a look on HP's website for the Dv7t and it appears that the QuickPlay program is not in the download files.

The path to re-install QuickPlay was as follows for the dv6000 series, I don't have a Dv7t:

    C:\SWSETUP\QPW\Setup.exe

Actually, that's a false statement on HP's part. Nero 8, specifically Nero ShowTime plays BluRays with the correct serial number for it. Also, CyberLink's PowerDVD also plays BluRays and HD-DVDs.
