So I was stupid and deleted my recovery partition and now I would like to know if I can still create recovery disks.

Can I create an just an OS disk? I would like to wipe the hard drive and get rid of all the BS software that's on my computer. I know I can do this without reinstalling the OS but I am lazy and don't want to spend the time.

You should have made the cds before you deleted the partition. Since you deleted the partition I don't think you can create cds anymore.

Not much you can do if you deleted the recovery partition. The only option available now is to either get a Win XP disc and use the SWSetup folder(I hope you havent deleted that as well) to do a clean re-install or just delete the unwanted bloatware and live with it. Without the recovery disc/partition there is no way to restore the lapop back to factory state.

Other than this you will have to call HP up and request the recovery discs.

You can order the recovery disks from HP here. I don't know if you can talk them to send those to you free.

Just removing the bloatware is the lazy way - about 10 minutes using add/remove programs. If you want to reinstall the os and drivers, expect to spend several hours (assuming you don't run into any problems). :)

Add/Remove programs doesn't get rid of everything. I am still finding stuff that isn't even in the programs list.

Add/Remove programs worked fine on my dv5000 removing all the bloatware.

It could just be icons and folders that didn't get removed with the main files. Some programs leave behind their icons and etc.. after you uninstall them.
