    Hey,

Dell XPS 15 15.6 FHD B+RGLED better than HP Envy 15 IPS?

Is Dell better than Envy 15 when comparing the screens? Especially when the IPS is known to show red as orange.

    What do you think?

Anyway Dell's RGBW backlit screen is TN, so... it's not even near the IPS quality.

Edit: ah I didn't know there was problem on Envy 15's IPS display. Sorry!

I've used both laptops, but don't currently have both of them to do a side by side comparison. For what it's worth though, I think the XPS 15's upgraded display is still the best screen you can get in a consumer laptop.

It also will not show violet correctly. The lack of red pretty much affects every colour.

The Dell XPS Studio 16 RGB-LED screen is fantastic. I haven't seen the 15.6 B+RGLED screen but if it is similar in quality, it will be far better than the HP.

Checked my friend who is professional in TV development and color setting.
Do not worry about the panel, in fact for different panel vendor, they will have slight different color setting(different color profiles and/or brightness/contrast settings), some will adjust to warm color style(you will feel dark), some panel vendor will adjust to cold style, will make your panel more bright and appear light color.
If you put 10 different vendor panel, differnent panel will show differnt color style, there is no serious standard on color setting. Even for same panel vendor, may show different color if different batch products.

And, this is not HW limitation, can be fixed by BIOS update if do VBIOS color profile adjustment.
