I received my windows 7 upgrade kit in the mail yesterday and was very happy to update it. So after hours, everything was finally done , they updated the bios of course to the most recent version and installed everything.

So after using my comp for a lil while i started to realize that there was no noise coming from the comp , and then the comp just shut off.

I had to wait about 10 mins to turn it on because i realized it was overheating. I then realized that THE FAN IS NOT WORKING AT ALL. Not at start up, not at anything.

Everything was perfect with this until i upgraded to windows 7 .. how is this possible. I deff have the most recent bios and driver updates. I called HP and they tried sometimes, basically seeing if i have the right bios, and i do .. So since its under warrenty , they want me to send it in and they will fix it.

Isnt there anything i can do? I highly doubt this is a hardware issue as it only happened like 15 mins after the upgrade and the comp is less then 6 months old.

Any help would be great .. Thank you .. I have a compaq persario cq60 -215dx

It was a coincidence, the fan failed and something overheated, i'm sure it's unrelated to your win7 upgrade. In any case, you should send it in and get it fixed under warranty.
