So the other day i called HP to fix my volume touch problem with my dv5t.
We didn't do the drivers and whatnot, but did a static electricity check.
anywho, we updated my BIOS for the hell of it.
and before my system information would say Intel Core Duo CPU @ 2.0
ghz
now it says
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU @ 2.26 ghz 2.27 ghz
what the hell is going on?
Did the BIOS update tell the computer how to better use my processor or something
or did i get more than i paid for?
Also, as a fun fact
in Counterstrike source, the volume down touch button makes your Z button go off
the rewind touch button makes you see your weapons down the list (say you have a grenade in your hand, you go to knife, sidearm, primary)

Also, ive been running disk defrag for i think about 4 hours now. I liked the old windows xp 32 bit defrag screen, progress and colors and bars.

This is a way better Disk Defragger: http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/download

thanks infamous

defrag in vista takes forever. Something seems to be wrong with your computer(after BIOS update of course). I think you should contact HP about it and ask if that is normal.

What processor did you get?
I wonder if different cpus come with different Bios? Anyone to inform me? Thanks -

Was it the T5750?
-
Its a Montevina dv5t, its a P7350 confusing it with a P8400. Read this http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/72250/
As for the CSS volume key thing, thats normal. I experienced it aswell. CS must have picked up the hotkey mapping.
The P7350 is a budget processor, Intel doesnt even have its specs listed on their website. -
Yes it does, here it is: http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLB53
I wouldn't consider it a budget processor. It is still very powerful. -
Well thats new, but that cant be right. It doesnt have speedstep listed in the features and its not supposed to have IVT. The product documentation isnt even correct, it goes to the extreme core's documentation
The Tjunction of the P7350 is 90c opposed to the T8400's 105c.
Did my processor magically get better?
