I just got my DV6500T this past week with Vista pre-installed. I immediately got rid of it and put XP on it. I got all the drivers to work and had no exclamations in my device manager. I then noticed that I could not use my webcam at all. I've used webcams before and they usually show up in My Computer, but this one did not. I messed with the acer drivers, hp updates and then I flashed to the newest BIOS. I restarted and XP recognized the cam and installed the drivers. It worked. It even showed up in Device Manager under Imaging Devices. I restarted a few times and it's now gone. I even reformmated with XP and it recognized it again for a few restarts and now it's gone again. Not even showing up in the Device Manager. It really sounds like a BIOS issue, but I'm not sure. If anybody has any ideas, that would be great. I really don't want to have to deal with HP support. Thanks.

If anybody was having the same issue as me, I believe I figured out the solution to this problem. When I'm sitting at my desk, I have a 7 port USB hub plugged in that has a Wireless mouse, keyboard, iPod and external hard drive plugged into it. When I boot my computer with the hub plugged in, the webcam is not recognized. If I unplug the hub, start the computer then plug in the hub after XP boots, all is good. Pretty weird, but it works.
