I have an HP Pavilion DV9612TX laptop running Vista Ultimate - this is my main computer.

It took me many Google searches and I now know what the problem is, but don't know if there's any way around it: my Xbox 360 is configured and set up as my media extender and is linked to the laptop. Without the DigitalPersona software installed Windows Media Center on the Xbox works like it should. With the software installed, Media Center on the Xbox can no longer establish a connection with the laptop and it times out and gives some error message about it not being set up correctly. Uninstall it, and it works fine again.

So it's documented that DigitalPersona stops Media Center on the Xbox connecting to the PC (can't remember where I finally found it), but just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation as me and has somehow got the two products to co-exist peacefully, or if I'm going to have to decide if I want the fingerprint reader to work but no Media Center on the Xbox or vice versa. At this stage my preference is for Media Center and no fingerprint reader, but hopefully there's a fix available.

As far as I can tell I'm using the only version of DigitalPersona that's available (3.0.0.2598 A).

I haven't tried using VeriSoft (used it briefly on a different laptop and didn't like it) but maybe that's an option again.

So, if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions it would be much appreciated!
