Hi guys this is gonna seem like an odd request but my bestfriend just ordered a dv8000z for her birthday (well she got an e-birthday card with the sale information..her parents ordered it) and as a gift I wanted to buy her a desk since she has none but I've kind of hit a snag. Is there anyway someone can supply me with the dimensions of the dv8000 laptop. I need to know the dimensions when it's closed (just w x d) and the dimensions when it's open (w x d x h). The desk I'm looking at right now has a hutch and says it can accept most 17" displays so I really need to know how high the screen is when open...and by screen I do mean the very bottom of the laptop to the very tops. Thanks in advance for any help. Peace.

At least according to HP's site:

    11.1"(L) x 15.62"(W) x 1.48"(min)/1.82"(max)

Thanks zazonz but I don't understand what you mean by the 1.48"(min)/1.82"(max), is that thickness of the notebook closed vs. opened?

Oh and also do you know the total height of the notebook when opened to a 90% angle?

    Thanks again

I am not sure either myself. Usually when HP lists two heights like that it is because they offer a larger battery which sticks out form the bottom thereby raising the height of the notebook. I don't think the are offering the larger battery on the dv8000z, so who knows. I guess you could add the larger height(1.82) + the length(11.1) which would give you 13" by my math. Could run down to Best Buy with the tape measure when you go to look at the hutch. Good Luck.

The thickness of the laptop/s is/are measured while closed.
